The resignation was due to the need for Datuk Hasmi Bin Hasnan, who is also the Group Managing Director of Naim Holdings Berhad ("Naim"), to devote more time and focus on Naim's business operations, bracing for the challenging year ahead especially for the property and construction sectors.

Naim's interest of 29.06% in Dayang, is protected under the capable hands of Naim's Group Deputy Managing Director, Ms Wong Ping Eng, a Certified Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA). Ms Wong, who has more than 15 years of experience in the finance and accounting fields, will remain on the board of Dayang. Naim also expressed its confidence that under the stewardship of the remaining directors, in particular Deputy Executive Chairman, Datuk Ling Suk Kiong and Managing Director, Tengku Dato' Yusof Bin Tengku Ahmad Shahruddin, Dayang would continue to scale new heights and achieve successes in the future.
